Florida voters recently voted to approve an amendment to help homeowners who have homestead exemption, to take that exemption with them when they move to another house in Florida. If you are thinking about selling your current property and move somewhere else in the state it is important to understand how this portability is calculated and it’s implications if you move to a more or less expensive house than you currently live in.
